Roche seeks to give strength to kidney patients suffering from anaemia and to support successful kidney transplants. Our diagnostic products help manage diabetes, one of the main causes of kidney failure, and our kits that measure serum creatinine levels are used in hospitals to assess kidney function.

Kidney disease affects around one in 10 people and one of its complications is anaemia which poses an added burden on patients. Debilitating fatigue, lethargy, palpitations, headache and breathlessness are just some of the symptoms caused by a reduction in the amount of oxygen-carrying red cells in the blood. Anaemia affects around 90 percent of patients on dialysis for kidney failure, but it can also affect patients before they need dialysis.
